Who we are

Humans of Wilton Manors (HOWM) is a digital magazine and photographic project rooted in the heart of South Florida’s LGBTQ+ community. Founded by Peruvian-born, Wilton Manors resident Manu Palacios. With the vibrant island city of Wilton Manors as our canvas, we document stories of identity, pride, resilience, and everyday beauty through powerful imagery and personal narratives.

More than a visual archive, HOWM is also a platform of solidarity. We proudly collaborate with and offer free event coverage to LGBTQ+ nonprofits—especially trans-led organizations—amplifying voices that are often pushed to the margins. From storytelling to advocacy, our mission is to foster visibility, celebrate queerness without taboo, and build deeper connections across our diverse community.

By blending editorial storytelling and grassroots support, HOWM exists at the intersection of media and movement—uplifting those who shape our inclusive, ever-evolving culture.
