Community Comes Together for 2nd Annual Sisters in Health & Unity Town Hall

On Monday night, March 10th, the Center for Spiritual Living in Oakland Park was filled with energy, love, and powerful conversations during the 2nd Annual Sisters in Health & Unity Town Hall, hosted by Transinclusive Group. Held in honor of National Women & Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, the event was all about celebrating and uplifting Black women and women of color, especially around issues of health, wellness, and community care.

The night featured inspiring panelists like Kalenthia Nunnally (Blessing Hands), Cassandra Esperant (AIDS Healthcare Foundation), Franchesca D’Amore (TransEd Florida), Gena Barr (Positive People Network), and Nikkie Wimberly (The McKenzie Project)—all of whom brought insight and heart to the discussion. The conversation was guided by moderator Camille Lewis, who helped keep the space grounded and real.

A special highlight of the night was storyteller Santi Flame, who moved the audience with personal reflections and deep community wisdom.

Humans of Wilton Manors (HOWM) was thrilled to be invited by our friends at Arianna’s Center, where we joined their table to support this meaningful event. It was a beautiful reminder of how powerful it is when community shows up for each other.

The event also had music, food, and lots of hugs and smiles—all made possible thanks to an amazing group of local partners and sponsors like AHF, The Pride Center, Midland, and The Our Fund Foundation.
